Permaculture Design Certificate

Permaculture Design Certificate at the Apricot Centre

Learn to design sustainable, regenerative land‑based systems with the Apricot Centre’s deeply rooted Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC). Delivered over six weekends at Huxhams Cross Farm,  a permaculture demonstration site,  this non‑residential course offers hands-on learning in soil health, forest gardening, renewable energy, livestock integration, and more. Led by experienced designers Rachel Phillips and Bob Mehew, the curriculum combines practical site visits, group design projects, and creative teaching methods. Certified by the Permaculture Association, this course equips you to apply permaculture ethics and design to everything from personal gardens to full-scale systems.

School Visits at the Apricot Centre

School Visits at the Apricot Centre

At Huxhams Cross Farm, the Apricot Centre offers curriculum-linked, hands‑on school visits for primary and secondary students. Children can explore where their food comes from through farm tours, apple‑tasting and pressing, vegetable trails, composting, herb and wildflower exploration, and even pick-and-cook sessions in our kitchen. These visits promote food sustainability, biodiversity, and emotional wellbeing in a richly immersive outdoor learning environment.

Thanks to funding from Defra school visits are available for free minimum 2 hour visit.
