The Oxford Real Farming Conference first ever field event

We are hugely proud that Marina will be teaching next week at the first ever ORFC field event at Wakelyns Farm. https://orfc.org.uk/orfc-in-the-field-wakelyns-2021/

Martin Wolfe who was our good friend, mentor and an inspiring pioneer and researcher in the field of agroforestry sadly passed away two years ago. Just before he died we were fortunate to have received a full weekend lecture series from Martin here at the Apricot Centre in Devon. We were very fond of both Martin and his dear wife Anne who died just before him. We used to visit them regularly at their incredible research farm Wakelyns in Suffolk discussing research, life and eating Anne’s lovely cakes.

ORFC in the Field is an idea which has emerged from the Oxford Real Farming Conference which was a huge success this year with it’s online events spanning the globe. The coming conference will be face to face also.

“During your time at the farm, you will learn from permaculture and biodynamic expert, Marina O’Connell, heritage grains pioneer, John Letts and Homedod’s founder, Josiah Meldrum. You will also learn about the YQ and Q population wheats. See then growing in the field, milled and baked in the on farm bakery kitchen by resident bakers and cooks, Henrietta Inman and Maisie Dyvig, who will also talk more about their experience of being part of a local small food chain.“
