Chartered Physiotherapist - MCSP HCPC reg, Sensory Integration practitioner & Therapeutic Mentor

I have over 30 years of experience as a Physiotherapist in the NHS and private sector, having worked across therapeutic services with children and adults with physical and/or learning disabilities, specialising in neurology and rehabilitation approaches.

I have helped implement Wellbeing and Back to work programmes in several NHS trusts and trained in a range of approaches to improve the health of children with dyspraxia, dyslexia and challenges to their learning. I qualified as a licensed Thrive practitioner for childhood years with experience of working in school settings as well as forest school and home education environments. I have broad experience and skills working with sensory processing, trauma and attachment needs with children and families. In recent years I have been working with young people with autism as an online trainer for Brain in Hand Ltd and as a Play enabler for Play Torbay.

I have completed a PG cert in Sensory Integration and am continuing my studies with Sensory Integration education (SIE), part of Sheffield Hallam University.

I am trained in Therapeutic life story work for adopted children with Family futures Ltd. I have been working as a therapeutic mentor for young people in care and/or struggling in education settings for the last 5 years.

I also work in an Inpatient hospital setting as part of a bank team of Physiotherapy staff. I have been fully HCPC and CSP registered since 1992.

Most recently, I have been working with a team to implement a sensory integration through nature approach within the Apricot Centre at Huxhams Cross Farm in areas we call ‘Sensory Wonderlands’.
