I am currently a phase 2 Process Oriented Psychotherapist student (https://www.processworkuk.org/students/) able to work under supervision and an adoptive parent of a teenager.

I work within the Apricot Centre with people over 18. I offer support to Parents or Carers of adopted or fostered children and Young People. I also work with Adults who have been through the care system themselves. I work with challenges arising from trauma and loss and offer a safe space to explore identity.

I am Trauma informed and come from a background in conservation and art and design. I have supported volunteers from all walks of life and facilitated a variety of groups both in nature and art. I love Process Work for it’s creative, broad and lively way it supports deep exploration of the more unknown parts of ourselves and the world. Process Work follows feedback, bringing awareness and curiosity to experiences. It finds deep wisdom in disturbances, dreams and body symptoms. My approach is empathetic, non judgemental and relational. I enjoy supporting people to find meaning in things and life itself. I bring creativity and fun to my therapy and group facilitation. I am passionate about the environment, art, poetry and storytelling, seeing great potential in utilising them for healing and growth. As an adoptive parent I have experienced many of the challenges parenting children with complex needs brings. My own journey has shown me the value of therapy in supporting my caregiving and the joy and surprises that come from exploring my difficulties and struggles with a sense of curiosity and compassion.

Message from Service Manager - “We are delighted to have Lucy with our team on placement. She brings many strengths including experience of adoption. Lucy may be available for lower cost therapy for adults, older teenagers (16+), and parent/carers in the Norfolk/Suffolk area.”
