Anne Cockcroft

Anne spent many years as an Early Year’s Teacher and Educator, with a love of outdoor and environmental education, she moved out of the classroom to explore and integrate a long-time spiritual practice and interest in meditation, embodied presence, and mindfulness. Anne has spent many years living and working in community at Buddhist and Mindfulness retreat centres, co-ordinating and working both at Gaia House and Sharpham Retreats, in Devon, UK. She completed training at The Karuna Institute on Dartmoor, Devon, in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy in 2018– many years ago she also trained in Shiatsu, Holistic Massage, and Anatomy.

Anne is coming to the end of a level four two-year diploma training with Heartwood, Devon, in Integrative Counselling. She is also about to complete an ‘Integrating Mindfulness and Compassion’ one year training with Mindfulness UK. Anne is an accredited ‘Compassionate Inquiry Practitioner’ who trained in this Gabor Maté psychotherapeutic, embodied approach, by completing the professional training, followed by a one-year internship and then the Mentorship programme, a duration of three years with many hours of practice. All her experience and trainings underpin and support her work as a counsellor and therapist.
